Remembering The Legacy of Mark Meldrum
Mark L Meldrum, age 72, of Algonac, MI passed away January 12, 2020. He was born January 17, 1947 to late Walter and Loucille (DeRose)Meldrum of Mount Clemens. He married Isabell Grzadzinski on June 19, 1971 at St. Peter Church, Mount Clemens.
“Melodious” Mark Meldrum loved to be surrounded by people and was a friend to all. In his early years, he was a drummer in a premier local band of the 1960’s “The Staccatos” playing many teen dances. After moving to Algonac in 1983, he was the former proprietor of “Mark’s Two Car Bar”. As a plumber, he was considered an artist of his trade, eventually going to work for General Motors, where he retired in 2008. He was the life of any party, a great dancer, and a better friend than anyone could ask for or deserve.
He was especially loved by his brothers and sisters Walter “Joe” Meldrum, Sue Tomayko, Judy Meldrum, Beverly Clark, and Frank Meldrum. Mark is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years Isabell, daughter Monika (Meldrum) Rittner, son-in-law William Rittner, grandchildren Kaitlyn, Kyle, and Kohl Rittner, many nieces, nephews and many close (some life-long) friends.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date in 2020.
