The Detroit Institute of Arts, Discovery Center of Macomb children’s museum, and Anton Art Center of downtown Mount Clemens, team up to bring Bubble Magic act live to local families.
Mount Clemens, MI – The Detroit Institute of Arts joins the Discovery Center children’s museum to present the Bubble Magic livestream event on June 13th at 2 pm during the annual SuperSatArtDay event presented by Anton Art Center, downtown Mount Clemens.
This year’s SuperSatArtDay event has moved online in response to the COVID-19 stay home order and features a fun-filled day of live-streaming performances including the Bubble Magic act, art demonstrations and performance shows for the whole family.
“The DIA is committed to serving the residents of Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne counties even while we are closed by providing digital resources like the performance you are about to witness. The DIA is proud to partner with The Discovery Center of Macomb and the Anton Art Center to present Tom Noddy’s “Bubble Magic” as part of the 2nd annual SUPER SatARTday,” says the team at DIA.
Tom Noddy has been playing with bubbles for half a century and has performed at science centers and festivals around the world. First gaining notoriety with appearances on Johnny Carson’s Tonight Show, Tom has continued to entertain audiences with a delightful combination of science, humor, and fun. Subsequent appearances of American television (including more Tonight Show and Late Show with David Letterman) and variety shows overseas helped to secure worldwide engagements. The 2020 COVID-19 crisis led Noddy to find ways to bring “virtual shows” to the homes of people locked down, and is now generating excitement in the “edutainment” community.
“Tom has done something unique in show business… he created a new kind of act. When Tom Noddy first took his performance of Bubble Magic onto the Tonight Show Johnny Carson was able to say ‘He’s doing something unlike anything we’ve ever seen,’ and we’re honored to bring this world-famous show to local families,” says Dusty Welsh, Director at The Discovery Center, downtown Mount Clemens.
